Não há localidade conhecida, a não ser esta, indicada por Hyman (1955): collected by the Yale Peruvian Expedition, August 8, 1911, at Tuicochchaca, at an altitude of about 2000 meters. Nessa expedição foi percorrida a região de Cuzco. Em http://images.library.yale.edu/madid/oneItem.aspx?id=1776220&q=1911%20peruvian%20expedition&q1=&q2=&qc1=&qc2=&qf1=&qf2=&qn=&qo=&qm=15&qs=1&sid=&qx= existe um mapa com o comentário "Hand-drawn map of the Urubamba valley and the Vilcabamba region where Machu Picchu is located. Map was used during the 1911 expedition". Indicamos, provisoriamente, as coordenadas geográficas de Vilcamamba.
